Terms of service

These terms are the agreement between you and Chalk Fitness (“Chalk”, “we”, “us”) for using the Chalk app, the website at trychalk.app, and related services. By creating an account or using Chalk you agree to them. If you offer coaching on Chalk, the Coach terms also apply.

Who can use Chalk

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding agreement. You are responsible for keeping your login secure and for everything that happens under your account.

Chalk is not medical advice

Chalk helps you plan, record, and understand your training and nutrition. It is not a doctor, a dietitian, or a medical device. Metabolic estimates, calorie targets, trends, and suggestions are calculations from the data you log. Talk to a qualified professional before starting or changing an exercise or nutrition program, especially if you have a health condition. Training carries risk, and you are responsible for your own safety.

Subscriptions

Chalk offers a free tier and paid subscriptions, currently Chalk Pro and Chalk Coach. Paid subscriptions are billed through the App Store on the terms shown at purchase, renew automatically until cancelled, and can be managed or cancelled in your App Store subscription settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal and keeps access until the end of the paid period. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. Prices and features may change, and we will tell you before a change affects a renewal.

Coaching on Chalk

Coaches on Chalk are independent. They are not employees or agents of Chalk, and Chalk does not supervise their advice. A coaching plan is an agreement between you and that coach, at the price the coach sets, paid through our payment provider. Chalk Pro and Chalk Coach subscriptions do not include coaching. Chalk is not responsible for a coach’s programming, advice, or conduct, but we do want to hear about problems at support@trychalk.app, and we can remove coaches who break our rules.

Your content

You own what you post and log. You give Chalk a licence to store, display, and transmit your content so the product can work, including showing public content to other users and showing your training and nutrition to a coach you connect with. When you delete content or your account, this licence ends except for copies that remain in backups for a short period or that other users have already reshared within Chalk.

You are responsible for your content. Do not post anything you do not have the right to share.

Community rules

Chalk is a place to train and to help other people train. Do not:

• harass, threaten, or shame anyone, including about their body;
• impersonate another person or misrepresent your qualifications;
• post content that is illegal, sexually explicit, or promotes disordered eating or dangerous practices;
• scrape, copy, or resell Chalk data or content;
• interfere with the service, other users’ accounts, or our systems.

We can remove content and suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

Chalk’s property

The Chalk name, wordmark, app, and website are ours. These terms do not give you any right to use them except to use the product as intended.

Ending things

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. We can suspend or close your account if you break these terms or if we discontinue the service, and we will try to give you notice where we reasonably can.

Disclaimers and limits

Chalk is provided as is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim warranties of any kind and are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any amount greater than what you paid Chalk in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of [State], United States, without regard to conflict of law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the courts located there, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim locally.

Changes

We may update these terms. If a change is significant we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Chalk after the change means you accept it.
